AI model (vs engine)
An AI model is the trained system that generates images or video; an engine is one runnable configuration of that model. One model can appear as several engines — for example a 1K and a 2K variant.
The distinction sounds pedantic until you compare product claims. A studio advertising "20 engines" may serve 19 models, because one model exposed at two resolutions counts as two engines — same brain, different output size and price. Model count tells you how many genuinely different systems you can reach; engine count tells you how many distinct runs the picker offers.
A concrete example: Seedream 5 Pro runs on Hermosso as a 1K engine and a 2K engine — two picker entries, two prices, one underlying model. Counting engines would call that two; counting models calls it one.
How Hermosso uses it: the studio serves 19 models across 20 image engines and 18 video engines, and both counts are stated plainly on the comparison pages — image models and video models — so you always know which number you are reading.
